Master Xiangyuan Jie

I am very pleased and grateful to receive my copy of Xiangyuan Jie's plein air art book. One of the best books I've seen about plein air. I highly recommend it for everyone who loves painting on the spot. It's a must have! Be sure to check out his website and blog at the link below to check more information on ordering his book. Lost Kingdoms Series

Here's another extract from the Lost Kingdom series. Inspired by the cathedrals and castles I visited in UK. I've also been fortunate to have visited the Seven Sisters country park which has been used in a couple of films including Harry Potter and Pearl Harbor. I think they also used it in Flyboys recently. Anyways, It is one of the favorite places I've visited and would like to go back whenever I get a chance.

Superman Concept Art

I've been throwing away some of my old drawings when I stumbled upon this printouts from Superman Next Gen Game. I didn't really like how the game turned out but I really enjoyed working on it. Getting paid to draw Superman everyday is a Blast!

Bouguereau

I've got a chance to see one of my favorite french painter's work last weekend. They have about 10-15 Bougureau paintings( i think!) and works from his american students. I spent a lot of time studying his color and brushwork up close! It is such a great experience being that close to something that you used to see only on books. For those who are in the Orlando/Ocala area, don't forget to check it out!

moleskines

Finally took some fresh air! Though I'm not sure if i can consider these travel sketches since I live so close to the Disney parks(15-20 minutes),But I'm really glad I have kept some of these. This is my sixth moleskine, I lost some of them through the years and I'm trying to keep the remaining ones. I'll be joining this year's Worldwide Sketchcrawl and would really like to do this more often. These are done with prismacolor pencils either while waiting for parades or when eating around the parks.

IF: Wired

Aside from being a workaholic, I'm also fond of traveling to other worlds where only my imagination can take me. Here's Castle Wingardia, from a series of Lost Kingdom illustrations. Inspired by real places I visited on my US and UK travels---I wish I can talk more about it other than it is "wired" all over. =)

WIP:Journey to Erindor/ extract

Here's some design experiments using simple shapes and setting the color style for some of the moments. I've been going back to some of my early work for the book due to disappointing color printouts. Although some of it won't even make it to the book, I'm glad that I revisited some of it. I've learned a lot along the way for it has also provided me a lot of creative insights.
